About Me

My name is Robert, and I’m a 40 year old former United States Marine 100_023500who would like to protect his family and make sure we all live nice long lives. I’m sure most of you would really like to do the same. But the future is looking a little ominous lately, with all the crazy weather and political and economic unrest all around the globe. That’s why I started this little adventure, so you and I and of course our loved ones can all survive to be old and gray, no matter what mother nature or our fellow man decides to throw at us. Together we can hope for the best while being prepared for the worst.

My goal with this site is to provide good sound information and to research as many survival products and resources as I can find, giving you all an honest and complete review for each one. If you find an item that I haven’t yet reviewed, by all means please bring it to my attention so I can try and cover everything available and make us all as prepared as we can possibly be.  Also, while I’m not new to survival, I am pretty new to creating web content, so please let me know what you like and don’t like about this site and what I can do to make it a better experience for you. You can contact me through the Comments section of this site or by sending me an email at robert@disastersurvivalprepping.com.

The first sentence of this page has been bothering me since the day that I typed it. Anyone who has ever served as or has known a member of the Corps knows that there is no such thing as a “former Marine”. Once a Marine, always a Marine. I just referred to myself as a former United States Marine so that people wouldn’t get confused and think that I’m still currently serving as an active duty Marine. There, now that can stop bothering me every time I see it.
